Turkish Bible Translation Project

Making scripture accessible for 100 million people

Turkish Bible Translation Project

Many Turkish-speaking people in Europe are not familiar with academic Turkish. We kept hearing the same comments: “We just don’t understand what we’re reading” or “We don’t know these words.” It became clear: we need a New Testament translation in modern Turkish!

In spring 2023 we released the Temel Türkçe Tercüme (Basic Turkish Translation) together with Biblica, OM, and The Translation Trust. The first edition is spreading rapidly — especially in the earthquake region of Turkey and in Germany, where many people are currently coming to faith and being baptized.

Global Nomads initiated the project and is now also funding the translation of the Old Testament (current progress: 91%). Project leader George shared in an interview that the full Turkish Bible is planned for release by mid-2027.

This will give millions of Turkish speakers inside and outside of Turkey access to God’s Word — in a language that is easy to understand. The New Testament is already available in major Bible apps, and an audio version will be produced.

Thank you for supporting this work financially and in prayer.
The translators receive about €1,000 per month, while the style advisors work voluntarily. Producing one New Testament costs about €2 printing costs, plus another €5 for shipping.

➡ With a gift of €30, we can print and send out 6 copies.
