Over the past weeks, a leading couple—who had lived for many years in Mongolia and whom the Lord had sent back with a clear calling—facilitated a Discipleship and Church Planting Training among several Turkic ethnic groups, including Kazakhs, Tuvans, and Uriankhai. Their vision is to see multiplying disciples and churches emerge among these peoples, especially in Western Mongolia where many of these groups are concentrated:

„Greetings from Mongolia! We finished our training here in Western Mongolia a few days ago—so grateful for what the Lord has done! 

Different from what we expected, many of the people gathering were not yet followers or very new ones. Those we had originally targeted didn't join for all kinds of reasons. Supported by the Central Asia team for the first days, we taught the very basics and could baptize in the nearby river 8 new followers of Christ!!

Michael*, who taught last year also on the Church Planting Training, taught in a simple way that was easy to understand and apply. Many of the participants were ordinary people who struggled to read fluently. But they had one thing in common – they experienced Jesus and got equipped!

Many forgave others after years of struggling, they confessed their sins, they felt the Spirit of God filling them and evil spirits leaving, they experienced His presence, joy, peace, love and they were set on fire to tell the good news to their families and friends!“

Growth and Implementation

As the training progressed, participants grew in confidence. Those initially hesitant began praying aloud, engaging in discussions, and leading small groups using the discipleship model they had learned. By the final day, attention turned to implementation. 

Together, the group developed concrete plans for the coming months: introducing these principles within traditional churches, multiplying house churches into smaller groups, and equipping new disciples to make disciples.

A Time of Worship and Intercession

Due to renewed quarantine restrictions, a planned regional worship and prayer gathering was canceled. Instead, the team traveled to a Tuvan village, where believers from multiple ethnic groups gathered at a site where three rivers meet—a place of ongoing prayer for the region. Christians from at least six ethnic backgrounds spent time praying together for Western Mongolia and for the growth of multiplying movements among the Kazakh, Tuvan, Uriankhai, and other peoples of this region.
