Training Church Planters

Catalyzing Indigenous Movements

Global Nomads equips, sends, and mentors church planters who train others to do the same. Since 2000, Global Nomads has been catalyzing local movements and seeing networks of multiplying churches emerge.

7000 Unreached People Groups

Of the approximately 17,000 people groups worldwide, nearly 7,000 remain unreached. Many are also unengaged people groups—communities with no known local followers of Jesus, no established church, and no one actively working yet to bring them the Gospel and see the first church planted.

Global Nomads trains church planters bringing the Gospel to the overlooked Turkic peoples along the ancient Silk Road.

Who Are the Turkic Peoples?

The Turkic peoples comprise around 60 ethnic groups, with a combined population of approximately 200 million. Their languages share a common ancestor, Proto-Turkic, and are often similar enough to allow some understanding across ethnic boundaries.

They are spread across a vast region, from the Balkans through Turkey and the Caucasus to Central Asia, western China, and Siberia.

The earliest Turkic-speaking nomadic communities likely emerged in the Altai region of Central Asia. Today, most Turkic peoples are Muslim, predominantly Sunni with shamanistic influences.

Our Vision

We long to see multiplying churches and disciple-making movements take root among the Turkic peoples along the Silk Road—bringing the Gospel to communities that have yet to hear it.

We follow the principles of Disciple-Making Movements (DMM): training church planters who immediately go on to train others, catalyzing local movements that multiply.

We encourage new believers to cross ethnic boundaries and share the Gospel with their “cousins” among other Turkic peoples.

Join us in bringing the good news to places where it has never been heard!
