Luke 10 Church Planting Training
A Simple Strategy for Finding People of Peace and Sharing the Gospel
Jesus sent His disciples out in pairs to the towns and villages He was about to visit. He gave them a simple strategy: pray, go, find people of peace, pray for the sick, and proclaim that the Kingdom of God has come near (Luke 10:1–9).
For many years, we at Global Nomads have been training local teams along the Silk Road to:
- Share the Gospel with people who have never heard it.
- Plant churches where none exist yet.
- Equip new believers to make disciples who make disciples.
Immediately after the training, participants put what they have learned into practice. They pray about where to go—whether to a new region or to people they already know—and set out in pairs, small teams, or as families. The goal isn't to cover as much ground as possible, but to find a “person of peace”—someone whom God has prepared.
When they find people who are open to the Gospel, they stay in touch and build relationships. On return visits, they may bring Bibles and read Scripture together, helping new believers grow in their faith.
Sometimes an entire family chooses to follow Jesus quickly; in other cases, trust and faith grow over several months. Even when nothing seems to happen at first, the teams keep praying and sowing seeds, trusting God to work in His time.

Yes, I want to see more church planters trained !and equipped!
On their first outreach, teams go without money or a backup plan, learning to rely on God and the hospitality of those they meet. They build relationships, listen to people's stories, and share their own.
When a door opens, they accept invitations, speak peace over the household, and ask whether anyone needs prayer for healing or deliverance. They pray and share the good news about Jesus and His Kingdom.
Over time, what starts small can grow into discipleship groups and simple churches that multiply. The vision is for each new church to send out people in pairs to reach others, just as Jesus did.
We may not yet see multiplication on the scale found in parts of Africa, India, or China—but in our experience, newly planted churches often begin to multiply within a year. God is definitely at work along the Silk Road!
